Edgard & Cooper Foundation supports Mayhew Afghanistan

Mayhew Afghanistan has been selected by the Edgard & Cooper Foundation to receive vital funding towards their work in Kabul.

The Edgard & Cooper Foundation has pledged to donate a generous sum of $75,000 over the remainder of 2020 and into 2021. The funds will support Mayhew Afghanistan’s rabies programme, covering essential supplies such as vaccines and dog-catching equipment, the rental of vehicles used for the programme and the provision of materials to help run rabies awareness and education projects.

The foundation was established by the founders of the pet food company Edgard & Cooper in 2016, to fund projects which prevent the suffering of dogs and cats all over the world. They aim to support Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), like Mayhew Afghanistan, who tackle the root cause of animal welfare issues and work with local communities to make change.

“It’s an absolute pleasure to be working with the Edgard & Cooper Foundation on our rabies programme, and together we can strive to eradicate rabies and to make Kabul a safer place from this fatal disease. ”

    Dr Abdul Mohammadzai DVM

    Mayhew Afghanistan Country Director

We are extremely grateful that the Edgard & Cooper Foundation have chosen to donate to Mayhew Afghanistan, especially in the current climate. Many charities have been greatly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, and these funds will ensure Mayhew Afghanistan can continue their vital work in Kabul.

Mayhew Afghanistan Country Director, Dr Abdul Mohammadzai DVM, said: “Their support and funding is received with gratitude and will contribute greatly in helping to save the lives of many animals and humans.”

Mayhew CEO, Caroline Yates, added: “We are very excited about the support and funding from the Edgard & Cooper Foundation for our work in Kabul which so resonated with them. Working together we will be making Kabul a safer and healthier place for dogs and the local people.”
