    Our volunteers support Mayhew in a number of areas including reception, events, driving, fundraising, fostering, animal care, home checking and as Trustees.     Mayhew relies on over 1,000 hours of volunteer time per month!

    From our reception team to adoption home visits and events, our volunteers have played a key part in everything we do. They dedicate their valuable time to help animals and people in need and assist our full time team in their day to day jobs.


    Can I be a volunteer?

    What you need to know:

    • You must be able to commit to working the same shift each week
    • You must be over 18
    • You must be able to commit to a minimum of three months volunteering with us
    • You do not necessarily need experience, although it is advantageous
    • You will need to provide two professional references
    • You will have a one month review period so that you and Mayhew can make sure the role is right for you
    • Mayhew cannot cover expenses
