Pet Refuge

We provide shelter and care for the pets of people in crisis for short periods of time. View our latest campaign and watch the video.

What is Pet Refuge?

We run a Pet Refuge programme that provides shelter and care for the pets of people in crisis.

Pet Refuge helps us keep people and their pets together. For many people facing a personal crisis, our service is a lifeline.

Whilst with us, we ensure that the animal receives the best possible care and is placed in a safe environment for the duration of the crisis period. We can either look after the animal at our Home in London or place them in a temporary foster home with one of our foster carers.

Who is Pet Refuge for?

We are able to provide temporary care and shelter for the pets of people facing a crisis –  whether that be an ongoing issue or an unexpected emergency – for up to 3 months.

This could be due to an owner being hospitalised, going into rehab, or possibly other fixed term emergency situations. The service is currently available to those who live within the M25.

Please note that, if you are looking for support while you are in-between homes: you must be able to provide us with written confirmation from your housing provider of a move-in date within 3 months, plus their written permission for you to house pets in the property.
