The story of a brave girl called Molly

Molly has been through so much over the past three months. She arrived in our care after her owner sadly passed away. We see many heartbreaking stories at Mayhew, but it’s always especially sad when an animal loses their beloved companion.

Not long after arriving, our Clinic team discovered a mass on Molly’s mammary tissue, as well as a tumour on her skin. While in our care, Molly underwent surgery to remove both lumps. Fortunately, the mass on her mammary tissue was diagnosed as benign, meaning no further treatment is needed.

The lump on Molly’s skin was diagnosed as a Mast Cell Tumour (MCT). In the photo above, you can see her recovering after surgery. Thankfully, the procedure achieved tumour-free margins.

Because Molly’s MCT was low grade, she has a very positive prognosis, and we will do everything we can to help her find the loving home she deserves, especially after all she has been through.

Molly is a wonderful example of just how dedicated our Clinic team are to providing the very best possible care for every animal. Thanks to their expertise and compassion, Molly can now continue her adoption journey and find a loving home where she can enjoy her retirement years.

Molly is described by her friends as a “happy” girl. She loves people and will make the most loving companion.

At nine years old, she’s been through so much, but still has the chance to enjoy the very best that life has to offer, she just needs to find her person.

Head of Kennels at Mayhew, Gwen Stanbrook, shared: “Molly has been through so much, and despite it all she is still a ray of sunshine who loves life! She has the happiest waggiest tail when seeing people, and she wants nothing more than a home that could provide her with all the love and toys she wants.”

If you’d like to find out more about Molly (who wouldn’t!), you can find her adoption profile here.
