Woof! It’s nice to meet you! Belle and I were delighted to be asked to share this Q&A with you today. We feel quite fancy being asked to do an interview! Especially as rescue dogs can often be misunderstood, so what a paw-fect opportunity to tell you about ourselves. Thank you for being here. We hope you’ll enjoy getting to know us.

I’ve been at Mayhew for a year and three months now. I celebrated my one-year-anniversary in May, although I suppose that’s not much of a cause for celebration.
I was brought to Mayhew with my brother, Casper when our previous owner was no longer able to care for us. Change can always be scary, but I was grateful to be provided with reassurance, which helped me to feel safe. You might be wondering what happened to Casper… I was so pleased to see him rehomed in July 2023 and have my paws crossed that I will find my fur-ever home too.
Just like you, we are all different. We come in all different shapes and sizes but have something in common. We want to be loved. Some of us just show it in different ways.
I might not be the most affectionate of dogs, but I do want to be loved like everyone else. I just need time and patience and like to show my love and affection in my own way.
I’m not a big fan of toys but do like using my nose to sniff out treats – especially on a snuffle mat or play scent games! It helps that I’m a clever girl.
I would love a home that has access to lots of lovely walking spots, as I do enjoy being outdoors. It would be nice to find someone who enjoys long walks as much as I do.
I have lived with other dogs before (my brother, Casper), but would like to be the only animal in the home as I prefer being on my own – in a four-legged sense!
Love means treats! Hehe. Just woofing around. Love, love means everything. It means waking up every morning knowing you belong somewhere, and you will always have someone who will love you unconditionally – simply because you’re you. Quirks and all.
