River is a dazzling girl who is looking for her forever home! She is sweet natured and loves nothing more than a good belly rub from the people she trusts. She takes her time building bonds with new people, but with a little patience and understanding she will shine as a loyal and loving companion. Going for long walks is one of River’s favourite things. She enjoys being out and about exploring her surroundings. While she is generally sociable, she is not always comfortable with other dogs and can be a bit forward. A long lead helps ensure she feels safe and comfortable. With the right approach, her behaviour is easy to manage. She enjoys a good game of fetch with tennis balls and likes using her nose to sniff out treats in a snuffle mat and for playing scent games. River is looking for an active and knowledgeable owner who understands dogs and can meet her needs. She will make a fun and loyal companion for the right person or family.
Read moreRiver is looking for a dedicated and active owner who has researched her breed type. She isn’t keen on being over-handled when she first meets people so she needs someone who will be understanding of this and willing to go at her pace. Her new owner will be expected to continue her training and they will receive three free 1:1 sessions with our Mayhew Animal Behaviourist to help guide them. River can live with sensible teenagers of 16+ providing they have lived with a dog before and will give her space when needed. She can also live in a flat that has direct access to a private garden but can be vocal at times so this should be taken into consideration. She can live with full time workers as long as she is given adequate exercise before being left and a plan is put in place to suit her needs during the day ie a dog walker/sitter for part of the day. River has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worming treatments. She has also been medically and behaviourally assessed.
