Poldark Star Adopts from The Mayhew

The Coroner star, Beatie Edney, has recently adopted a new furry addition to her family, a Yorkshire Terrier puppy called Freya, from The Mayhew Animal Home.

The well-known actress quickly fell in love with the tiny two-month-old, who was first brought in to The Mayhew with her two siblings, Finn and Faith, after the previous owner’s landlord wouldn’t allow dogs in the home.

A great long-time supporter of The Mayhew, Beatie, known for playing Prudie in BBC drama, Poldark, previously adopted her dog, Billie, from us. Beatie’s actress mum, Sylvia Syms, also adopted a dog a couple of years ago from The Mayhew called Bunny.

Freya, who has now been renamed Button, is a typical outgoing puppy who is a bundle of fun. She is excitable and adores being in people’s company.

Beatie Edney said: “I wasn’t actively looking for another dog, but when I heard about Freya, who has now been renamed Button, I instantly fell in love.”

“I thought she would make the ideal companion for my other dog, Billie, and they already get on so well. I can’t wait to spend some quality time at home with them both!”

We are over the moon that Button has found a pawfect home that she truly deserves!
