The Inspiring Communicator Awards recognise and celebrate people who are inspirational communicators within their organisations, and we cannot imagine a more fitting or worthy winner than Alissa.
Alissa joined Mayhew over five years ago, and has been the backbone of our Marketing and Communications team ever since. From starting off managing our social channels to taking on responsibility for all of our digital output, Alissa has transformed Mayhew’s public brand, grown our followers and ensured our campaigns are both creative and consistent over the past half a decade.
This year, she rose to the challenges presented by a global pandemic even more spectacularly, helping raise more than £10,000 with our emergency care package appeal during the first lockdown and educating over 250,000 people about London’s feral cat population this summer, all the whilst making a seamless transition into remote working.
Alissa works tirelessly to find new ways to deliver critical information about our projects to those who need them most, and lives and breathes her commitment to improving animals’ lives – she is also a volunteer cat foster carer, and has recently helped one of our longest staying cats, Linda, find her forever home!
“Alissa Johnson really stood out amongst a huge number of nominations and an incredibly strong field.”
A spokesperson from CharityComms said “Our judges were completely bowled over by stories of people who really stepped up and helped their organisations face the challenges of the Covid19 pandemic.”
We are so proud that CharityComms has recognised Alissa’s talents, and we can’t thank Alissa herself enough for her hard work and dedication. Aside from the invaluable and inspiring work she creates, we couldn’t bear to be without her support, smiles or endless animal puns – so con-cat-ulations Alissa!
