Mayhew raises over £5,000 at Christmas Fair

On Sunday 26th November, we held our annual Christmas Fair at our Home and raised a fantastic £5,200. Our guests got to see behind the scenes at Mayhew and we had a record number of visitors sipping warming mulled wine and enjoying mince pies!

We had plenty of exciting new products on sale for our visitors including our 2018 calendars, pet toys and Christmas cards. Anita Kelsey was also on hand to sign copies of her book, Claws: Confessions of a Professional Cat Groomer. Don’t worry if you missed out on any of these goodies, they are still available in our Christmas Shop! At the fair, sweet-toothed guests could also treat themselves to homemade jams, fudge and cake, as well as beautiful handmade cards by Nicci James featuring some of our former Mayhew residents.

Santa Paws stopped by to give gifts to the children and have a few doggy cuddles himself. Each of our cats in the cattery had their very own Christmas stocking and visitors were encouraged to fill them with toys and treats. Our lucky kitties will be receiving their stockings on Christmas Day! We also had a special visit from three of our incredible TheraPaws dogs – Roobarb, Tess and Tobi.

The day concluded with a raffle full of exciting prizes including signed books from Clean Eating Alice, Life of Pikelet and a huge hamper full of Lily’s Kitchen goodies.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for festive fun and helped us to raise a fantastic amount to help us continue to care for neglected and abandoned animals and help the local community.
