Magnus & Thistle returned to Mayhew in mid January after their previous owner was not able to care for them in the long term. She gave them a good foundation and took them on when nobody wanted them so they have known love and are now looking for a place to call their own once more. They have been behaviourally assessed and given preventative treatment at Mayhew in the form of microchipping, neutering, vaccinations and flea and worming treatment. Currently Magnus has been diagnosed with stage 2/4 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). He was diagnosed with this when he was younger and over the last two years all his values have stayed the same which is positive. He is currently not on any special food diets but has some potassium supplement (Kaminox) in his food. It may be beneficial to give him renal food diet in the future but for now senior food diets work just as well even though he is a younger chap. Thistle is fine and well in herself after a few issues before arriving back with us but for now both cats are doing well and looking for a special someone who will give them the time to settle in.
