    Joan West

Every good Tuna company has an even greater Feline pulling the strings and we like to think our Joan is that gal. This go getter has lots to say and is a real character who will keep you on your toes. She is affectionate and outgoing but is acutely aware of what she wants and when she’s had enough will tell you off if she has too. That’s why Joan would appreciate a grown-up home where she can be the boss and have you spoil her rotten. So, if you fancy some Sass with you fish keep reading to see if you could be her purr-fect match and give her the fur-ever home she deserves…

    Other Notes

Joan arrived in our care at the end of April after being found in a garden. She was heavily pregnant and gave birth to babies at Mayhew shortly after she arrived in our care. She has now been behaviourally assessed and given preventative treatment at Mayhew in the form of microchipping, neutering, vaccinations and flea and worming treatment. After nursing her kittens Joan developed Mastitis which is now back to normal and during her check ups our vets also heard a grade 2/6 Heart Murmur. This should be monitored with your own vets but needs no current treatment. Lastly we have noticed a few sore patches of skin on Joan in particular on her belly. She may have been overgrooming but either way stress is always a contributing factor to these things so should always be manged in her new home. As we were unable to get some topical cream on things we have given her a steroid tablet (Prednisolone) that she takes well in her food (every day) and the skin is much improved. The hope is that she can be weaned off this medication as she settles and finds a place to call home.
