Our Afghanistan Project Manager, Dr. Abdul Jalil Mohammadzai, is currently in Afghanistan. Dr. Mo, who is Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, is providing Mayhew International vet training at the animal charity Tigger House in Kabul. Tigger House is run by the Afghan Stray Animal League and is a shelter offering low-cost veterinary clinic for homeless, abandoned, sick or injured small animals in Afghanistan through their small surgical clinic. The shelter is located in a refurbished house in Kabul and has been operating since 2004.
We have also donated two blood machines to Nowzad and to the Veterinary Science Faculty at Kabul University. You can read more about Mayhew International’s Dr. Mo here.
