Did you know that Tim Tam is a sweet treat from down under? He’s also a handsome young man from Old London Town who just loves his fuss and getting cuddles. He will start by rubbing around your legs to get your attention and then its lap time to increase his snuggle quota for the day. He is the ideal pick-me-up when you’re feeling down and a fluffy treat to be enjoyed for a lifetime. He will need a large indoor home or one with an enclosed garden due to him having FIV (See below) and would enjoy some company too. He could also live with sensible teenagers so long as they are respectful as he does have a sensitive side despite his youthful exuberance. So, if you’re getting that wham bam, thank you Tim Tam feeling, keep reading to see if you could be his purr-fect match and give him the fur-ever home he deserves…
Tim Tam arrived at Mayhew towards the middle of March after he was transferred from a local vet practice. He used to have an owner but sadly they could not be located. He has been behaviourally assessed by our cattery staff and given preventative treatment in the form of vaccinations (at least first) and flea and worming treatment by our veterinary team. He was previously neutered and microchipped before coming into our care but when he arrived our vets have treated him with antibiotics for a cat bite abscess and he has subsequently been diagnosed with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). This means he has a weaker immune system than other cats. The virus tends to progress very slowly so he should lead a healthy, happy life as an indoor cat or if he is lucky having a fully enclosed garden would be ideal. Given that he would not be able to roam freely it's important we provide him as much space as possible and provide lots of things to keep him occupied. Like all Mayhew cats he will also go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance and the hope that he is not overlooked like a lot of black cats often are.
