Myla is a beautiful Bengal (Cross) who is full of character. She enjoys some fuss and will happily come over to sit on your lap or lounge next to you on the sofa and watch TV. When she is after some fun and games she is more than happy to have some playtime too. She is looking for an experienced home with people who can provide her with all the keys to unlock her potential. Myla has her boundaries so it is important she find a home where she is respected and allowed to be the cat she wants to be. She would prefer a more grown-up home with people who can read the signals so she doesn't feel the need to tell you off. She would also need a garden which isn't too heavily cat populated as she is not the biggest cat fan and that way she can have you all to herself. So, if Myla is the marvellous moggy you've been looking for, keep reading to see if you could be her purr-fect match and give her the fur-ever home she deserves...
Myla arrived at Mayhew at the end of October 2025 due to her behaviour being a little too much for everyone in the home to deal with. She been behaviourally assessed by our cattery staff and given any medical treatment required by our veterinary team. All cats leave our care microchipped, neutered and have been given flea and worming treatment as well as any vaccinations (at least first). Lastly, every cat adopted from us will also go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance. Myla currently has some medication to help with her behaviour. She currently has fluoxetine twice a day which we put in some lick-e-lix type treats and this helps with any anxiety or frustration she feels. She also has some fibre food diet to help her motions. We can offer behaviour support as part of her adoption as well so if you want to chat with someone about her needs we are more than happy to discuss things further. Myla was adopted from us originally in 2024 during this time we sent a small lump away when she was neutered to be tested and this came back fine with no concerns. We also sent off a urine sample as she had some concentrated urine. This needed no treatment and she has been fine since.
Myla is a confident, intelligent, friendly cat who enjoys the company of people while also being self-contained. She loves to play and as she has a sharp and agile mind, requires stimulating play several times a day to keep her happy and content. While she is not food focused her appetite is good. As with her play Myla enjoys variety in her diet. We have also found dried catnip sprinkled on her cardboard scratcher bed to be beneficial for her mood and wellbeing. Myla is not a cat that will demand lots of attention, but she does like sitting on your lap in the evening while watching TV, or an affectionate pat on her head after a yummy snack or play time. We feel Myla will be best suited to those with more experience with cats and are willing to give her space to be herself and the time to find her way.
