    • Virtual

We’re calling on all animal lovers to walk, run, wheel or jog 100 miles (or whatever distance suits you) this May to help raise vital funds for dogs and cats who desperately need your help.

Miles for Mayhew is a fun and exciting virtual event, it’s free, and anybody can join in wherever or whoever you are – that’s the beauty of it! You can do it at your own pace, walk with friends, your dog or a group at the weekend. By taking on this fun and simple challenge, and raising just £200, you could help so many dogs and cats live better, healthier lives.

When you raise your first £15 we’ll send you a snazzy Mayhew t-shirt to wear when you’re out and about (please select your size when signing up), and if you raise over £200 you’ll get a medal at the end of the challenge to celebrate your achievement!

“I am trying to get fit and walking is great exercise. When I saw the Miles for Mayhew challenge event it was a great incentive to raise money for the dogs and cats at Mayhew but also get my miles in! Knowing you are making a difference to the lives of animals as well as getting some fresh air, what's not to love?”

    FAQs

When is the deadline to sign up by?

If we all start the challenge at the same time we can motivate and support each other. So, if you can keep Miles for Mayhew during May where possible that's great, but if you need extra time to tick off those miles that's absolutely fine. Take it at your own pace and in your own time.

Where does the event take place?

Miles for Mayhew is a virtual event, so anywhere in the UK that suits you. Whoever you are and wherever you are, the challenge is open to everyone!

Can I set myself a different distance?

Absolutely! You can set your own distance, take it at your own pace, tackle it however you want to - walking your dog, in the gym, buddy up with a friend, or maybe an intense walk every weekend, the choice is yours.

How can I track my distance?

There are several ways to track your progress, you can download various apps to your smartphone like Strava or Fitbit, or you could even use your built-in smartphone health app.

What is the cost to sign up?

It’s free to sign up and take part and when you raise your first £15 we'll send you a snazzy Mayhew t-shirt to wear with pride. And if you raise over £200 you'll get a medal at the end of the challenge to celebrate your achievement!

    Is there a fundraising target?

There's no required fundraising target, but we're encouraging everyone to try and raise £200, which could cover the cost of essential vet care for a stray or abandoned animal. We're with you every step of the way, and your support will make a real difference to the lives of dogs and cats in need.

    Can I fundraise on Facebook?

A Facebook fundraiser is another easy way to collect donations online, and you’ll be able to easily share your target and progress with friends and family too! To find out more, go to www.facebook.com/fundraisers
