Luna

Lovely Luna was found abandoned outside Mayhew on a cold December night last year. She arrived with a large lump on her neck and fractures to her hind legs. Even though she must have been in a huge amount of pain and very afraid, her friendly, affectionate personality shone through immediately with our staff. Throughout all her treatments this girl has remained loving and joyful and wants to be everyone's best friend, both two legged and four legged. A truly beautiful soul with endless love and energy. When she's not playing, she loves nothing more than cuddling up with her person on the sofa. Luna is now ready to find her forever home. She's looking for a dedicated owner who will keep her mentally stimulated and will continue her training. She's a smart girl who picks up new cues very quickly.

Other Notes

Luna is looking for an owner who has the time and patience to continue her training. She can live with sensible older children who are used to living with dogs and won't be nervous of her bouncy nature. She could potentially be introduced to living with a dog-confident cat providing her owners take their time with the introductions and will teach her not to chase them. She can also live with another active dog who will cope with her bouncy playstyle. The mass on Luna's neck was successfully removed and was found not to be malignant. Both of Luna's hind legs have now healed. Her Left hind leg is almost back to normal but but her right knee joint will never be completely normal and doesn't bend and stretch as well as a normal joint. This means that Luna walks with a slightly odd gait. Both joints but, particularly her right one will be prone to arthritis. Currently Luna uses the right leg well, she is on pain relief to make sure she is comfortable but she may not need to stay on this. She is also on joint supplements to try and reduce any arthritis developing. Luna has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worming treatments. She has also been medically and behaviourally assessed.
