Kylo is a sweet natured, playful and active young pup, looking for an equally active and experienced owner. He can be a little worried with strangers to begin with but warms up quickly and enjoys interacting with his known people, showing off his cheeky side! He is social with other dogs and keen to greet them but is still learning and will need an owner who will continue with his training and socialisation. Kylo is an intelligent and curious boy who likes to be kept busy and will thrive in a home where he can be provided with additional, physical and mental stimulation. Kylo may have impaired vision but he doesn't let this stop him and is always up for an adventure or game with his toys. He will make a fun and loving companion for the right person/family.
Read moreKylo is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable owner who has owned dogs before. They'll have researched his breed type, be aware of the breed's grooming requirements and also aware of the growing financial costs of dog ownership. He is looking for a home where there will be someone around for most of the day. He could potentially live in a flat providing he has quick access to a suitable outside space for ease of toilet training. He can live with sensible children of 8+ who will be consistent with his training and give him space when needed. He can live with a sociable adult dog who will be a good influence on him, subject to a successful meet at Mayhew and can also live with a dog-confident cat as long as his owner will teach him not to chase and introduce slowly. Kylo was born with microphthalmia of the left eye. This is an inherited congenital condition where the eye has failed to form properly and appears smaller than a normal eye. Other eye structures can also fail to form which can cause secondary issues however this is not the case with Kylo. It is quite common for a dog to have visual impairment in the affected eye and we feel that Kylo may be blind in this eye. Kylo is currently coping very well and there is no treatment needed at this time. Kylo has been health checked, microchipped, will have received his first vaccination and is up to date with flea and worm treatment. He will need to return to Mayhew on a specified date for neutering. Kylo has also been behaviourally assessed.
