    Georgie

Gorgeous Georgie is a sweet boy with a sensitive nature. Although curious, he can be nervous when meeting new people and shows some worry around being handled so his new owner will need to be able to read his body language and provide him with support where needed. Once warmed up, he enjoys playing with his toys and going on outdoor adventures with his people but can get overwhelmed when in busy environments so would prefer his walks to be in quieter, familiar surroundings. He gets along well with other dogs and is keen to meet and greet them but is still learning and will need further training. Georgie would thrive in a home with owners who will continue with his training and socialisation and allow him time and space to settle in and build his confidence up slowly. His new owners will be rewarded with a loving, cheeky and fun companion in return.

    Other Notes

Georgie is looking for a calm, quiet home with patient and understanding owners who will, ideally, have owned dogs before and have a good knowledge of dog body language. He will need someone to be at home most of the time, building up the time he is left, slowly. Due to his worried nature around handling and busy environments, his new owners will need to be prepared to have up to three meets with him before he goes home. He could live in a flat as long as there is direct access to a garden. He could live with sensible teenagers of 16+ providing they have experience around dogs and will give him space when needed. Georgie could potentially live with another, calm dog who will be a good influence on him, subject to a successful meet at Mayhew. He could also possibly live with a dog confident cat as long as his owner will facilitate slow and careful integration. His new owners will need to ensure he is groomed regularly and be aware of the financial costs involved in this. Georgie has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worm treatment. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed. Lastly, every dog adopted from us will go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance.
