    Other Notes

Cookie can live in a flat, providing there is direct access to a garden. She can live with sensible junior/secondary age children, as long as they give her space when needed. She could live with a calm, adult dog, subject to a successful meet at Mayhew and could also potentially live with a dog confident cat. Cookie is a brachycephalic breed type, her adopter will need to be knowledgeable about brachy care and have researched her breed. They will need to take care with excessive exercise and hot weather, maintain her weight and ensure her skin folds are kept clean. Cookie had one of her eyes removed prior to arriving at Mayhew. Her remaining eye is affected by 'dry eye' and she is on ongoing medication and drops for this but she remains visual and comfortable. Cookie also has grade 4 medial patella luxation in both knees, meaning the kneecaps sit permanently out of place. She appears to have adapted very well to this condition, showing no signs of pain or discomfort. Her adopters will need to monitor and manage both conditions, taking her for regular vet checks. Cookie has been microchipped, neutered and vaccinated and is up to date with flea & worming treatment. She has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed. Lastly, every dog adopted from us will go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance.
