  • Support for XL Bully dogs and their owners

Mayhew is committed to offering our utmost support to American Bully XL dogs and their owners throughout the upcoming months.

We understand that the government’s recent announcement of a ban on American Bully XLs will be greatly concerning to owners. Mayhew will support American Bully XL dogs and their owners as best we can over the coming months.

We offer a number of services to help XL Bully dogs and their owners living in Brent, Ealing, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster. This includes tailored support and advice including muzzle training, neutering, microchipping, care packages and preventative veterinary care.

    1:1 support

You can request a one-to-one session with a member of our Community Animal Support Team who are here to help dogs, cats and pet owners in the communities we serve. They can help to explain the implications of the impending government ban for owners of XL Bullys, offer practical support and advice, including on muzzle training, and explain how Mayhew may be able to help you and your dog.

They can also make a referral to our London clinic for preventative veterinary treatments, and signpost you to additional services.

    Neutering and microchipping

Despite operating waiting lists, due to the impending ban, Mayhew has chosen to prioritise neutering slots for XL Bully dogs, free of charge, ahead of 31 December 2023.

This service is available to eligible owners living in:

    • Brent
    • Ealing
    • Kensington & Chelsea
    • Hammersmith & Fulham
    • Westminster

It is very important to have your dog microchipped, if you haven’t already. Mayhew may be able to microchip your dog free of charge.

To find out more, contact our community vet clinic on [email protected] or 020 8962 8017 and a member of our team will get back to you.
