Lucy

Little Lucy is a sweet, funny girl looking for a home where she can flourish and be her full self. She enjoys spending time with people and in her bed but is also active and likes being out and about for walks or other adventures. She will often attention seek, putting paws on handler and staring up at them when she wants to have some lap time. She can be worried of new people or places but doesn't take long to gain confidence, seeking reassurance from her handler. Lucy is a smart breed and would thrive from plenty of mental stimulation games and constructive connection with her care givers.

Other Notes

Lucy could live with older primary school age children providing they give her space when needed. She could potentially live with a calm, adult dog, subject to a successful meet at Mayhew. Lucy could potentially live with a dog confident cat, provided new owners have the space and management in place to take introductions slow. Her new owners will need to ensure he is groomed regularly and be aware of the financial costs that could come with this. Lucy has a coat condition called Alopecia X which is conditions where there is hair loss and can progress to pigmentation (colouring) of the skin in these areas. Lucy was also treated for skin irritation and mild infection on arrival at Mayhew. She has shown a full response to treatment. We are not sure of the underlying cause of this condition but she may have underlying allergies and may be prone to flare ups in future. Lucy has also had dental treatment while at Mayhew and was noted to have some missing teeth. She has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea & worming treatment. She has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed. Lastly, every dog adopted from us will go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance.
