    Gordon

Good boy Gordon is a friendly and affectionate chap. A wonderful combination of being both calm and playful. He can sometimes be shy when meeting new people. However, he quickly makes friends when given time, space and a few treats, often giving his seal of approval by offering up his back end for scratches! His favourite things in life are playing with his toys, food and snuggling with his trusted people. He can get worried by loud noises and busy environments when out and about so will need an owner who will provide him with reassurance and guidance where needed. This well-behaved and intelligent boy builds strong bonds and loves his food, so he has lots of potential to learn new things. Gordon has been through a lot in his life and is looking for a home where he can be the centre of attention. He will make a loving and fun companion for the person or family lucky enough to adopt him.

    Other Notes

Gordon could live with sensible children of 10+ providing they have been around dogs before and will not be intimidated by his excitable nature at times. He could also live with another dog that is confident and well adjusted, subject to a successful meet at Mayhew. He could live in a flat as long as there is access to a garden. Gordon has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worm treatment. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed.

    Foster Carer Comments

Dan - Kennel Carer: Gordan is a lovely chap who finds the outside world a bit of a challenge but with guidance, patience and understanding from me and the kennels team he has made huge progress and is rewarding everyone around him with his massive love for wanting to be with people. He is a great office boy and loves to spend time with my colleagues while they work. Affectionate and loving, he enjoys a good back scratch and will insist on receiving one when with you. Abi - Volunteer & Foster Caring Manager: I have the privilege of having Gordon join me almost every time I am in the office. He lights up my day and I miss him the moment I go home. He is a playful, loving, sensitive and cuddly boy! He absolutely adores the company of humans, and I know he is desperate to have a human of his own. He is sensitive to loud noises, but with some reassurance from those caring for him, he has already started to build his confidence. Being a Bulldog mix, I think he will make a fantastic addition to any family. I would adopt him in a heartbeat if my own dog would allow me to.  He likes other dogs, and loves to play. Although he is 8 years old, he has the character of a much younger dog. He will enjoy playing with toys and having a good run about, but shortly afterwards you can expect some good lengthy cuddles on the sofa.  This gentle boy has so much love to give, and I can't wait to see what lucky family get to adopt him!
