Myla

Myla is a beautiful girl who is full of character. She enjoys her routine, which consists of lots of play, treats and sleep and likes a bit of fuss when the mood strikes. She loves watching TV from the laps of her humans and her favourite toys are mice, lizards and birds. The one's on the end of a string which she can chase and display her hunting prowess. She is looking for a quiet, predictable home that can provide and maintain a routine which will keep her comfortable. She can get a little upset if things change and has been known to pounce, bat or scratch your legs or feet. For Myla it's important someone is experienced around cats, can read her signals and allow her to live her best life. She would also like a garden without encountering lots of other cats as she can find this upsetting. So, if Myla is the small but mighty marvel you've been looking for, keep reading to see if you could be her purr-fect match and give her the fur-ever home she deserves...

Other Notes

Myla arrived at Mayhew at the end of October due to her rumbumptious behaviour being a little too much for everyone in the home to deal with. She been behaviourally assessed by our cattery staff and given any medical treatment required by our veterinary team. All cats leave our care microchipped, neutered and have been given flea and worming treatment as well as any vaccinations (at least first). Lastly, every cat adopted from us will also go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance. Myla currently has some medication to help with her behaviour. She currently has some fluoxetine in treats twice a day. She takes this well in lick-e-lix type treats and seems to help with any anxiety or frustration she feels. She currently has no other medical issues that need treatment and we can offer behaviour support as part of her adoption. She has had treatment for a few things while in our care before her most recent home. This included some blood in and concentrated urine which resolved without any treatment. We feel this was down to stress as well as being a bit de-hydrated from not drinking enough. Lastly we sent a small lump away to be tested when neutered and this came back fine with no concerns.

Foster Carer Comments

Myla is a confident, intelligent, friendly cat who enjoys the company of people while also being self-contained. Being a Bengal, she loves to play and as she has a sharp and agile mind, requires stimulating play several times a day to keep her happy and content. While she is not food focused her appetite is good. As with her play Myla enjoys variety in her diet. We have also found dried catnip sprinkled on her cardboard scratcher bed to be beneficial for her mood and wellbeing. Myla is not a cat that will demand lots of attention, but she does like sitting on your lap in the evening while watching TV, or an affectionate pat on her head after a yummy snack or play time. We feel Myla will be best suited to those with more experience with cats and are willing to give her space to be herself and the time to find her way.
