We were featured on ITV News London on 12 August talking about the cat and kitten crisis we are currently experiencing. Mayhew is an animal welfare charity that works to improve the lives of dogs, cats, pet owners and communities. The demand for our services rose dramatically following the pandemic and has not dropped since: in the past 12 months we've seen a 60% increase in stray and signover help requests.
Meet our cats and kittensWe currently have almost 100 cats and kittens in our care: we are at capacity. Every animal that we care for costs us around £1,000, and it costs Mayhew £7,500 a day to do our essential work. We receive no government funding: we rely on the support and generosity of people like you.
