    Prince

Little Prince is a sensitive chap who is wary of strangers and will sometimes bark at strangers who approach him. He's a clever chap who is responding very well to training and is learning to focus on his handler when a stranger approaches. With people he knows and trusts he builds very strong bonds, is very sweet and affectionate and enjoys being groomed. He's a curious boy who's not really into toys but loves his walks, where he likes to take his time sniffing the environment.

    Other Notes

Prince arrived with a short history of seizure activity noted by his previous owner and was started on anti-seizure medication. He has had no signs of seizure activity since being under the care of Mayhew. The exact cause for seizures can be difficult to identify in dogs. We would advise his adopter continues on the current anti-seizure medication until well settled into his new home, minimum 2 months. We would then suggest they discuss with their vets the possibility of reducing or weaning him off the epilepsy medication if he is still seizure free. He's looking for an experienced owner who will continue his training and will work with a dog trainer to continue his socialisation around strangers. He's looking for a calm, all adult home where he won't be left home alone for long periods. Prince has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea & worm treatment. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed.
