Poppet

Fun-loving Poppet is an active and playful boy who is intelligent and loves to learn. He forms strong bonds with people and has a huge fan base amongst his carers at Mayhew. He enjoys seeing other dogs on walks and is learning all about doggy etiquette. Typical of his breed, this young boy can be over enthusiastic at times and he still has a lot to learn, however he's responding well to the training he's receiving at Mayhew. Poppet is looking for a dedicated owner who is knowledgeable about dog behaviour and who will keep him both mentally and physically stimulated, to help him flourish into the well-adjusted dog he has the huge potential to be. In return they will gain a loving, loyal and lifelong companion.

Other Notes

Poppet can live in a flat as long as there is direct access to a private garden of his own. He could potentially live with a calm, well adjusted adult dog, subject to a successful meet at Mayhew. He could also potentially live with a dog confident cat as long as his owners facilitate slow intros and teach him not to chase! His new owners will receive three free 1-2-1 sessions with our Mayhew Clinical Animal Behaviourist. Poppet has been microchipped and vaccinated and is up to date with flea & worm treatment and will be neutered prior to rehoming. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed. Lastly, every dog adopted from us will go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance.

A message from one of his kennel carers: Spending time with Poppet always makes my day and I'm sure it makes his too. He is such a brilliant boy and is always ready to give me kisses and show his affection whenever I go to see him. I feel we have a great bond as he is always happy to see me and listens to me so well. I love this boy so much and always look forward to seeing him when I come to work.
