Lovely Larry has not had the best start in life, resulting in him being a very nervous and timid boy. Since arriving at Mayhew, his confidence has grown but he still has a long way to go. He enjoys being in the company of people he knows, playing with his toys and going on calm walks in areas he is familiar with. Due to previously being under socialised, Larry is looking for an owner with time and patience, who will be able to gain his trust and continue building on his confidence at his pace, helping to show him that the world is not such a scary place!

Other Notes

Larry needs a calm, quiet household with owners who have, as an adult, owned dogs before and preferably with experience of dogs with a nervous disposition. He could live with teenagers of 16+ providing they have lived with a dog previously and will help with training. He could also live with another dog as long as they have a calm and gentle temperament. When he arrived at Mayhew, Larry had an ear canal inflammation and infection in both ears. He received treatment and is much more comfortable now, however, in some cases ear canal infections are recurrent. His ears will need to be regularly cleaned by the adopter and may require regular vet checks to ensure they stay healthy. Larry has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worm treatment. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed.
