Handsome Daffy was extremely nervous and shutdown when he first arrived. He's slowly started to build up his confidence showing his playful, affectionate (and often mischievous) side. Due to his difficult start in life, he will need an experienced owner who has the time, knowledge and patience continue with the training and socialisation he needs, around people, dogs and general everyday situations.

Other Notes

Daffy is looking for a calm home with an experienced owner who is knowledgeable about dog behaviour and is up for a challenge, ideally having owned an undersocialised dog before, and will work with a dog trainer. He can live with sensible teenagers of 16 years of age and upwards providing they have previously lived with a dog, will be able to help with his training and will not be intimidated by his boisterous nature during play. He would not be suitable to live in a flat due to his vocal nature. Daffy had some hair loss and sores when he arrived at Mayhew but these have since resolved with treatment. Daffy has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worm treatment. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed.
