Mayhew runs a number of educational programmes for young people in the community. They cover animal welfare, pet ownership and safety around animals.
By taking our educational initiatives out to the local community, we have a better chance of preventing cases of neglect, abandonment and cruelty. We run a number of educational programmes for young people.
We welcome groups of students aged seven and up for a tour of the home. They also engage in a talk about animal welfare, the importance of responsible pet ownership and safety around animals. These visits usually last between 60 and 90 minutes. We feel that it is beneficial for schools to come to Mayhew, however we do make exceptions.
We also visit a variety of community groups to share information on responsible pet ownership, animal safety and welfare. The type of groups we cover include youth clubs, young offender units, Guiding and Scout groups, women’s organisations and Rotary clubs.
If you would like to speak to our Animal Welfare Team about an education visit, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 020 8962 8000.
