This World Veterinary Day (26 April), we are celebrating our incredible veterinary teams and the life-changing work they are doing around the world.
From London to Tbilisi to Kabul, Mayhew simply wouldn’t be the organisation it is without our veterinary teams who provide life-saving treatment to thousands of animals every year.
Our clinic work isn’t only helping to save lives but changing the future of generations to come through preventative treatment.
In countries like Afghanistan where rabies is still a risk to the animal and human population, vaccinating is essential for eradicating canine-mediated rabies which has a huge impact on the lives of so many.
Closer to home in London, our veterinary team provide pet owners with the reassurance that their beloved companions can receive preventative care which they might not otherwise be able to afford elsewhere, which could prevent them from seeking treatment at all.
In some cases, this support helps to make it possible for people to stay together with their pets which is at the core of what we do as an organisation.
Every dog and cat, no matter what their circumstance – deserves access to veterinary treatment and we are proud of our incredible veterinary teams for giving them just that. Not just today on World Veterinary Day, but every single day.
