You are in for a sweet treat if you take home Wonka! This boy came in with his siblings after their mum was wandering around as a pregnant stray cat and then gave birth in someone's house. Wonka can start off a little bit shy, but once he gets to know you he really is such a social boy. He is a delight to have around as he's on the constant look out for affection and love. Wonka will follow you around, climb onto your lap, snuggle up beside you and shower you with lots of love in the form of purrs and cuddles. He really is a star at the Chocolate Factory as he's a expert biscuit maker! All he needs is a Fur-ever home who will give him the time to settle at the start and then be rewarded with a loving companion by their side. If you're able to add some sweet magic to your life and give Wonka his purr-fect home please keep on reading.....
Wonka arrived at Mayhew with his siblings after his mum gave birth as a stray in someone's house. He has been behaviourally assessed by our cattery staff and given any medical treatment required by our veterinary team. All cats leave our care microchipped, neutered and have been given flea and worming treatment as well as any vaccinations (at least first). Lastly, every cat adopted from us will also go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance. During his stay we noted that Wonka has had some moderate inflammation of his gums (Gingivitis). It was first thought it was down to his adult teeth coming through but was a bit more significant and so this is why you'd need to seek advice from your own vet about treatment if things did get any worse again in the future. For now it is much improved but is still present. Our vets are happy that it currently needs no medical intervention and should just be monitored for now. Lastly, he has had some mild cat flu symptoms in the form of some mucous in the corners of his eyes. This has just needed cleaning if it builds up, but to help guard against any flare ups we recommend to keep up to date with his now yearly vaccinations.
Wonka takes a while to build his confidence around people, but once he’s used to somebody he’s an extremely charming little man. He loves being stroked, brushed, and generally being the centre of attention. He’s got a sweet little voice and quite the repertoire of squeaks and chirps, which he won’t hold back with when he wants something! He loves to play, and takes delight in chewing up his his feather toys and finding new things to play with. He climbs his scratching tree like he’s King Kong, but is very gentle with people. He loves tummy tickles, and has very powerful purring-engine. He's not the bravest boy to begin with, so he would need somebody with the understanding and patience to help him past that initial period, but once he’s found his feet he would quite happily become boss of the house.
