Sandy is an amazing cat who has been much loved in her previous home. Sadly she has had to come to Mayhew so we are seeking an extra special someone who will love Sandy and provide the best home for her for years to come. She is very affectionate and will normally come over to sit on your lap. She is actually very cheeky and quite playful which you might not think when you first meet her as she is usually lazing about in her bed when you initially come to say hello. She loves her fuss and enjoys a chin rub too and will often dish out a cheeky head bump to show that you’re ok! She will need a home with people who have had cats before and especially those who have had to groom cats as well as she will need some extra care and attention on that front. Above all she needs a loving home with people who will treat her like a queen!
Sandy is ok to be left for a full working day provided a cat flap is fitted. She is a very sweet cat who loves her company so the more time to hang out together the better for everyone. Based on her past history and current temperament she requires a quiet all adult home. She would respond well to those who have had cats before and can read any signs that she is un-happy or getting a bit stressed out. Every adoption is unique and we want to make sure all our cats are happy and cared for so we recommend pet insurance and you must register with a local vet. Vet costs vary so please look into the expense involved in caring for a cat. Sandy has been neutered, microchipped, 1st vaccine (at least) given and is up to date with her flea & worm treatments. She has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed which all help to guide our re-homing criteria. Sandy has had a clean and polish of her teeth and also had her fur clipped on her stomach as she gets quite matted in this area. She is fine now and looks a bit scruffy but needs a home with people who will be prepared to groom her and keep her looking as pretty as a picture. She also had a slight tremor of her head and body develop a few weeks after she arrived. Our vets believe it to be an anxiety issue as tests have confirmed no other root causes for the shakes. For the time being this has now resolved without the need for treatment and while she seems happy enough we would love to find a home for this special lady as quickly as possible so she can be a happy cat fur-ever more.
