Penny is a sweet, playful girl who is quite the character. She likes to run sideways and pounce at her toys when she wants to play and also has a cheeky side too. She can also be a very affectionate girl who'll greet you when you get home by rubbing herself round your legs and will perch on your lap for some extra fuss as well. Penny would thrive best in a quiet, adult only home as she can get unsettled by loud noises and will need someone who has the patience and understanding to let her settle in to her new surroundings as she can get a bit stressed out at first while she is figuring things out. She would also benefit from a cat flap as she has a lot of energy burn. So, if the Penny has just dropped and you want to give this bundle of fun a loving home, keep reading to see if you could be her purr-fect match and give her the fur-ever home she deserves…
Penny arrived at Mayhew in mid January after her owner was unable to take care of her properly due to ill health. She has been behaviourally assessed and given preventative treatment at Mayhew in the form of microchipping, neutering, vaccinations (at least first) and flea and worming treatment and comes with 4 weeks free pet insurance. Now she is looking for a place to call home where she can have you all to herself and make a fresh start in a loving new home.
Penny is a sweet, friendly, intelligent, and rather energetic four-year-old cat. Despite being quiet and afraid in the first few weeks of her stay with her new foster family Penny eventually settled and became used to her surroundings. Once this happened, she has shown herself to be a very affectionate, happy and playful cat. As Penny is a smart cat and likes to be kept occupied, she needs an outlet for her energy via play time, so, we think a quiet home with a garden, where her prospective family will be patient and give her the space and time to settle into her new home will be most beneficial. Someone who also has the energy to play with her several times a day would also be ideal. Like fellow calico/Tortie cat Maneki Neko, (the Japanese ‘waving’ cat), whoever adopts Penny will be really lucky to share their life with her.
