Moses is a sensitive soul looking for his perfect fur-ever home. He can be a bit shy at first, and takes some time to warm up to new people, but once he knows you're his friend he is on the lookout for lots of cuddles! He likes attention, and will follow his people around for fuss with lots of head nudges and kisses. He loves to sleep next to you on the sofa and bed, but he will also happily go off to another room in his kingdom for a few hours and cat nap. Moses can be a bit cheeky and will let you know when he wants his own space so he needs people who will respect this. He has cystitis, so he will need to go to a quiet adult only home where he can settle in and get to know you at his own pace to avoid this flaring up due to stress. He also needs to be kept active as this chonky boy will eye up any food that he sees! If you can offer Moses the purr-fect home please keep on reading....
Moses came into our care in early February after he was not getting along with the other cat in the house which was causing him lots of stress and flaring up his cystitis. He has been behaviourally assessed by our cattery staff and given any medical treatment required by our veterinary team. All cats leave our care microchipped, neutered and have been given flea and worming treatment as well as any vaccinations (at least first). Lastly, every cat adopted from us will also go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance. Moses came in with cystitis which is a medical condition that is bought on by stress which means that the bladder can become inflamed which can cause a urinary blockage. Common symptoms of this are straining to urinate and blood in the urine. Moses has not had any flare ups since being with us, but he would need a household who would monitor him closely for signs and take him in to the Vets straight away if needed. The reason for his flare ups in his previous household were because he was being attacked by the other cat, so he will need to go to a home with no other animals. It is important that he goes to a stress-free environment and has access to lots of water so that flare ups are avoided as much as it can be helped. He is also on a diet at the moment as he is overweight, so he will need to stay on this to keep his weight healthy and have a garden to roam in to keep him active.
Little Mo is adorable and friendly, it is clear he was loved in his last home. He was very scared at first, we had some toileting accidents and some swipes. Within a week he was far more settled, seeking me out for tummy rubs and sleeping on my bed, he even likes to get under the duvet. Sudden moves and loud noises startle him and he will run and hide. He will tell you what he wants – belly rubs, yes & all day long! But if he feels unsafe, he will let you know with a swipe. As time has gone on, these moments are becoming rarer. I feel once he fully settles into his furever home, this behaviour will disappear. Mo especially is concerned about other cats, and isn’t happy if you smell like them either. Do not be fooled by his weight, he is very agile, climbs well and plays like a kitten. Being groomed is his second favourite activity after belly rubs. He can be a bit naughty, if the death stare from the sofa hasn’t convinced you to stop what you are doing and give prince Mo attention, he will do anything to grab your attention! Yep, he’s wrapped me around that cute little sock paw and is super loveable.
