Minty is a distinguished gentleman who is never rushed. He loves to snooze on the bed or deliberate if he really does want to play or not. He has come on leaps and bounds now he is the only cat in the house and seems to prefer the company of his humans now that he can get you all to his self. He will sit by your side and enjoy his fuss and the happier he is the more times he shows of his belly. He would prefer an all-adult home, as he does seem to like a grown-up lifestyle but has a playful side, he has to think about showing off. So, if you want some Minty freshness in your home, keep reading to be sure you can give him the fur-ever home he deserves…
When Minty arrived at Mayhew he had some dental work (Descale & Polish) to remove some calculus from his teeth. He also has some secondary gingivitis which has improved since his teeth were cleaned but will need monitoring and possibly some additional treatment in the future. Minty has been behaviourally assessed and given preventative treatment at Mayhew in the form of flea and worming treatment and he was previously microchipped, neutered and vaccinated before arriving in our care.
Minty is a gentle soul and has become more used to being on his own, (as he was living with other cats previously) he has really come out of his shell more now and is enjoying his new found monopoly of my time. Minty does take a while to warm up to play, looking at a bit of string or feather teaser before deciding that play can be fun. He will try and catch the end with his paws and jump up to reach it. Minty prefers to approach me, although lets me approach him, which makes it all the more special when he hops up alongside me for a cuddle each day. He enjoys having his neck and belly area rubbed and his purrs get louder all the while. He’s a lovely, undemanding lad, and I shall miss his presence around the place.
