Chalky is sensitive guy who is looking for a loving home where he can sit on you lap and live a stress-free life. This handsome chap is looking for a stable home to rest his whiskers and once he’s settled he can show you his friendly nature and penchant for cuddles. Chalky has a very sweet nature and would do best in a quiet home where he can give you the eyes and you’ll be spellbound. He would prefer an all-adult home, with people who will give him the time and space to find his paws and then you’ll see this starman take flight. So, if you could be Chalky’s hero and can be the bestest cat people make sure you keep reading to be sure you can give him the fur-ever home he deserves…
Chalky has been behaviourally assessed and given preventative treatment at Mayhew in the form of microchipping, neutering, vaccinations (at least first) and flea and worming treatment. A short while after Chalky arrived at Mayhew he had some episodes of Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC) this is an inflammation of the bladder without microbial cause. During these episodes cats can show signs of pain when urinating, straining to pass urine, passing small amounts of urine frequently or passing bloody urine. Often stress can be a significant factor in flare-ups. We have ruled out bacterial cystitis and Chalky's kidney function is unimpaired. Currently, his urination behaviour is normal but Chalky has been very sensitive to changes in his environment in the past. Adopters should be prepared to monitor his urination and consult a private veterinarian during a flare-up. Urinary health can be assisted by ensuring a good water intake, choosing a diet that states urinary health is factored in, and keeping stress at a minimum.
