We have an exciting opening for an Animal Welfare Officer to join our Animal Welfare/Community team. This role will consist of responding to animal welfare concerns on a daily basis on behalf of Mayhew in accordance with the standards and ethics of the home and in line with Mayhew’s policies and procedures.
Part of this role involves the transportation of animals, it is therefore essential that the successful candidate holds a full, clean driving licence.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be part of the community welfare team, of 5 other welfare officers. On a daily basis you will be working with the wider teams such as kennels, cattery, Adoptions and our Community Veterinary Clinic. You will be working to support our community with any animal welfare issues they may have, therefore, the ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills. This truly is a varied role; no two days will be the same.

Department: Animal Welfare/Community
Hours: 35 hours per week, variable shift pattern Sun – Thurs or Tues – Sat, 9-5 pm with one week in 4, 12 pm – 8 pm (currently under review due to COVID-19)
Salary: Dependant on experience.
Annual Leave: 25 days per year, plus 8 public holidays.

N.B. Our interview process involves candidates preparing and presenting a 10/15-minute presentation on an animal welfare topic.
