Shot Put and Hurdles

Hello our names are Shot Put and Hurdles and we are both about five months old. We were born at The Mayhew and are two very happy little Rabbits. We have had a case of the snuffles which we are over now but we desperately need to find somebody who is experienced with Rabbits and are happy to keep us in the best of health as from time to time we may need an extra trip to the vets.

We are such a sweet and loving pair of Rabbits that we rush over to greet people first thing in the morning as we look to munch on our pellets. We are great together and don’t like to leave each others side when we hop about. We love the staff at The Mayhew but it’s time we saw a bit more of the world so come in and say hello.

We like our veg in the afternoon and we happily eat our hay which helps look after our teeth. You would need to make sure you keep up with our vaccinations so we can grow up to be big and strong and we will be your best friends for life.

Rabbits can live indoors as well as out so you have to make sure you understand what exactly adopting a Rabbit entails. Rabbits are curious little animals which we have only really started to scratch the surface of understanding fully. There are a few simple rules that all new adopters have to fulfil.

Firstly if you are intending to keep your Rabbits indoors make sure you have rabbit proofed where they will live.

If they are living outdoors make sure the hutch they are to live in is secure and will keep all those nasty predators out.

Lastly a hutch is never enough and all Rabbits need and deserve as much space as possible.

A secure run would be needed for an outdoor set-up while if they are indoors giving up a room or half of one to them will give them the space they need to hop about and be much, much happier.

If you think you can offer us a loving, fully-committed, lifetime home or would like to know more about us, please complete the Rabbit Adoption Questionnaire or visit during viewing times.

If you’re not in a position to adopt but would still like to help The Mayhew, please consider making a donation so we can continue to rescue animals like this from a life of cruelty and neglect.
